Is it healthy
Is it healthy?? Such a simple question and 90% of the time we know the answer to it.It is either YES or NO(remaining 10% may be when we are stranded in a foreign planet and their eating options)? Then why do we very occasionally ask this question before having our meal. May be,we are so habituated to eat mindlessly and the only question that we have trained ourselves along the way is to ask 'IS IT TASTY?'. Why do we go behind taste every time. In the cave age,man relied on taste to differentiate edible food and poisonous food based on taste. He concluded that sweet foods are safe. It was The best decision for him given the resources. But now we have evolved in every walk of life except Health!!! It is so unfortunate that we have collectively inherited the misconception that ALL sweet food are healthy and safe..this statement is partially correct but not as a whole.For instance, Sugar is sweet but is it safe and healthy? The answer is No .The evolution link to rely on sweet taste to be safe has been broken when man started to eat and bombard his body mindlessly with artificial sugary foods.The body is now like a malfunctioning machine and this misconception is so deep that we rarely pause and take a moment to ask the first line of this blog.The poor brain believes that all sugary food is sweet and safe but we know the rest of the story. What can we do ??? The answer is simple ,Give up the notion of tasty food and start to train your brain to think about healthy food. Always remember that healthy food need not have to be tasty .Just eat the whole wheat bread,oats,veggies and fruits not because it is tasty but because it is healthy. Make it a routine every other day until the body start to eat healthy food mindlessly ( though mindlessly is not a correct way to eat food ) we know that Oats are not tasty as chips. Fruits are not tasty as chocolate cake. But the moment we realise that eating healthy food is superior to eating tasty food ,we evolve,be become powerful!!!
